The recent three heatwaves over the past month and dry spring has depleted Dutch reservoirs, forcing the government to declare the water rationing for the fourth time since 1976.
A passionate meteorologist with a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Meteorology and Climate from the University of Reading, awarded under the fully funded UK Government Chevening Scholarship. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Climate Science at the University of Leicester, as part of the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) and the University of Leicester’s Water and Climate Group, funded by CENTA UKRI (UK Government).
His research focuses on understanding the philosophy behind energy balance models and improving the representation of the hydrological cycle within them, in collaboration with the University of Reading and the UK Met Office.
Nedim is also a national weather anchor and columnist for many media outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since October 2023, he has been an elected member of the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS).
